1 Permanent Key Stage 2 Teacher from September 2017 with possibility of an R&R if candidate is suitable for the Phase Leader position

We are looking to appoint highly motivated and creative KS2 teachers who can offer a wealth of meaningful learning experiences to our children, share CPD with our staff team, and take part in our active school community.

"We are looking for a teacher who challenges us, inspires us, listens to us, cares for us and gets to know us as individuals" Yr5 Pupil.

Larkrise is a popular and expanding school in East Oxford with 450 children on roll, aged 3 to 11. We are proud of the cultural diversity at the school, which gives Larkrise its unique character, and enriches the lives and learning of all children.

The school has strong links with the local and global community. This international dimension is embedded throughout the school and in particular through our Storytelling Curriculum. We have excellent outdoor learning provision (including Forest School). We provide outstanding sports, music and performing arts provision. We have a school Samba Band that is widely recognised at community events such as the Cowley Road Carnival.

Everybody at Larkrise has ownership of our whole school values, which are built around the 5 Cs – Curious, Confident, Creative, Caring and Celebrating. To enable more collaborative leadership, we have moved away from the curriculum subject leader’s model, to a model called "Change Teams". Within these Change Teams teachers can choose a project that focusses on a core change for that academic year e.g. developing a new program to cater for children’s mental health and wellbeing needs, improve whole school attendance, develop and improve the teaching of science.

"The change team model at Larkrise has been empowering and enriching." Teacher.

We offer an excellent CPD package for all of our teaching staff.

"I love how the coaching model has made us all collaborate." Teacher.

In our 2013 Ofsted, a ‘Good’ grade was awarded. We are currently on our Journey to Outstanding. We are excited about this journey and welcome additional ideas or skills to help us achieve this outcome. The school works collaboratively and is well supported and led by excellent Governors.

We are particularly looking for teachers who are proactively involved in their professional development; have good or excellent digital skills; and have some, or all of the following skills/enthusiasms: Spanish, PE, Music, Literacy and Computing.

We are recruiting for September 2017 due to a member of staff leaving to teach abroad and a member of staff relocating to London.

Both newly qualified and more experienced teachers are invited to apply for a permanent or temporary position.

Please come along to visit our wonderful school to get a feel for our thriving environment and take a look at the school’s Twitter feed (@larkriseprimary) to get more of a feel for the day to day life of the school and the school community.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday 21st June
Interview date: Monday 26th June

Everyone within Larkrise Primary School has a responsibility for, and is committed to, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and for ensuring that they are protected from harm.
